when you get PR NZIS stick some little visa stickers into your passport, they are blue. generally we find people are quite happy when this happens ;)

I arrived in to work this morning and there was a nice courier post package waiting for me. I've been showing every in work my passport all day. I can't stop looking at those beautiful blue stickers!

Crappolla, I forgot to tel you all that I got some blue stickers too... two of them, unfortunately they only allow me to work for a further three weeks (one of which is just coming to an end) and I have had to send the passport off for the next application...
once that comes back it will be an EOI, and then we wait....

waiting times for everything is fifty times what it was last year, does anyone else find that rather bizarre?
Makes me wonder if the new gov isn't looking at ways to change the immigration process to make more money, or make it harder to come here for good?

Well, on the immigration website they doubled the time is said PR took - it used to say 6 month - 12 months, then it changed to something like 12 months + (not sure of exact phrasing, I've had a bit to drink tonight as a celebration). I thought that was really weird and started to get worried that waiting times had gone up a lot. I still got my PR in just over 4 months. I think they're just being extra cautious everywhere with estimates now. I found this with my work permit as well (I actually got my residency 1 week after my work permit, because of their timing estimates I freaked out and applied for a work permit too as I didn't think my residency would be through in time - I really think they're just being extra careful - luckily they're refunding my work permit fee)
