feeling a bit freaked out being back in the uk with the amount of people and daunted at the task ahead. job offer issues aside, we had already decided to just go for it and are going to sit down tonight to make a plan. still a bit jetlagged which doesnt help. is this usual?

There have been so many threads like this, when people have been working hard to emigrate, have succeeded to a certain point (like getting a job offer, the grant of PR, the house sale, the tickets bought, etc. - one of those moments that carries a 'wow, this is real' pointer), and been really delighted - and then the cold feet hit. So, yes, this sounds very usual and entirely normal. I'll probably be exactly the same in due course.

I'm trying to get as much done before we commit to buying those one-way flights after our visas arrive. I'm clearing out the house, writing lists of DIY jobs we need to do, worrying about OH finding work and leaving a really great job in the UK, getting quotes from shippers, arranging viewings with letting agents, sorting out our mortgage, exchanging cash, worrying about what to take on the flight, grumping about BMI cancelling all flights between Leeds and London, etc etc. And, I'm doing all this whilst looking after a baby and a 3 yr old, doing the housework, cooking, shopping, getting to pre-school etc.
I feel like my head will explode at the sheer scale of the task ahead. You are most definitely not alone. In fact, I'm considering hiding under the duvet for a while - about 3 months should do it

Similar sort of thing. We have just submitted out ITA. That has been our sole focus for the last few months. Now we have to sit down and work through the next steps in the process, including selling the house and all that involves and making lots of lists for everything else. This forum is invaluable for helping out.

Just the next stage of this roller-coaster ride they call Moving to NZ. And it doesn't stop when you get here either... just moves slightly slower ;)

I think that title is a bit of a loaded questions isn't it?! ;)
We were in NZ for our honeymoon... married less than a week and already planning on moving to NZ! As soon as we got back to the US of A I started looking into moving and we submitted our EOI in all in the same month!
I think i'm starting to freak out now that it's soo close... funny feeling in my tummy all the time now... and I smile huge at random times...

no you're 'out of the ordinary' in terms of the general population - but on this forum you're normal :)

If you were normal, you wouldn't be considering coming. Just making the effort makes you stand out from the crowd of stay-at-homes. You're out of your comfort zone, and a degree of uncertainty is to be expected. Have faith in yourself and your instincts :)

^^ I completely agree with the above two posts. :nice1
You guys know you want to move here, you fit in really well. You took the crappy rainy weather in summer in your stride, and even when Ethan had to be rushed to hospital, I remember quite vividly about what you said with how at home you felt here. :) :nice1
Come to Wellington. You know you want to. :)
