City and Guilds Electronic Servicing

Hello everyone, My hubby and I have put off submitting our EOI until we sold our house just incase anything went wrong and we ended up out of pocket, but I have been going through our EOI and because of my husbands type of work Industrial electrician P.L.C , SCADA, ALLEN BRADLEYS (I'm sure this must mean something to those in the know....???? Im clueless!!)
The query is when he left school 21years ago he left with the Electronic servicing and installation City and Guilds, but the line of work he is involved in does not have a recognised qualification as he has been trained by his employers.
He has worked for the same company he did his apprenticeship for, what I really want to know is when I have spoken to an immigration expert they said we would not need to go through NZQA as he had the City and Guilds Electronic Servicing thing and that it was recognised by them on their list.

Could someone please confirm this for me please?

Sorry to waffle on but I know you people are the guys in the know.
Thank you
Ada

The reply below:
Hi and welcome.

Your OH needs to get his qualifications assessed by the EWRB.
http://www.ewrb.govt.nz/content/overseas.html

They will tell him if they will grant him a provisional practicing licence, under supervision, and what he will need to do to gain a full licence.

Good luck.

Nick.
