Hi All

I'm new to the forum and I have to say what a great resource it is and full of friendly people to boot.

I'm just about to embark on the (long and painful) process of a Long Term Business Visa and was wondering if any of you have used this visa?

If so I'd be very grateful to receive any first hand experience/tips etc on not only the process but also the ease (or lack of it) of doing business in NZ.

I'm looking at heading for Christchurch and want to set up a green energy solar/air source/ground source/insulation business looking at both retail of products and installation (I'm heavily involved in this type of work in the UK). Any views on whether this is something that's saturated in NZ or not would be helpful too and whether there would be a market for it.

Looking at coming out for a Recce in May. Too late for the summer I know :wah but will there be enough snow for ski-ing at Mount Hutt???

As far as I remember, YosarianRem is the only person recently to have talked about coming in on a Long Term Business Visa. He posted here several times last month while sorting out what he needed to do, and is probably in the thick of it right now. Once you clock up five posts, you'd be able to PM him.
