Yeah, just completed my first triathalon!
Have wanted to do one for a long time so am feeling chuffed. Just at entry level so not huge distances, (250 m lake swim, 10km bike ride, 2 km run), but great fun having done it thro' Sport Waikato who have run training sessions for the last 6 weeks.
Anyone else do them regularly? They're on every Wed at Lake Karapiro for any Waikato residents.

Congratulations. Start small and go bigger from there. I sense an Ironman in your future!
I haven't done any tri's but I have done a lot of running races and I cycle to work most of the time. The coast to coast race is my dream race. I guess I should work on my kayaking cert when I get down to Christchurch.

Well done!
I've haven't done a triathlon since I was 13, though I'm planning on getting into them again next summer. Right now I'm doing circuit training for two days then a cardio day to try to get in shape for the local basketball leagues.

Well done, it's a great sport. I timed our recce trip to NZ to tie in with a little triathlon up in Taupo last March. Worked out really well as then afterwards as we toured we ended up in Wellington for the Oceanic Champs the next weekend which was great to watch. Really friendly sport too, as almost all my contacts in NZ arose through triathlon.

Well done - a great achievement! :clap
Maybe when we'll move I'll have a go at one (nothing too strenuous to start with of course!)
When's your next one then?? :D

I bet you feel great! I would love to have a go and hope Whangarei has lots of sporting opportunities. What is the next step up?

Bilbo - the world number 1 triathlete Sam Warriner is from Whangarei (well, she's an expat who settled in Whangarei). She got started in the sport when she moved here and cycled to her teaching job.
There are lots of sporting opportunities here and triathlon is one of the growing sports.
Great one Carey, next summer you should try to add to your tri tally.

Yep, good stuff. Swim must have been a wetsuit this time of year! I've done a few duathlons some while ago, and keep meaning to start again. Problem is I always seem to pick up injuries when I start running:mad: even though I enjoy it.
