I would check out powerswitch (http://www.consumer.org.nz/powerswitch/) to see which company will offer you the best price.

From previous threads, most suppliers seem pretty much the same as each other so probably best to just go with the one that will save you the most money.

They are all probably much of a muchness, but we are with contact. So far, so good ...

We're with energyonline as they give a 20% discount if you pay before or on time whereas the other companies offer 10%.

We contacted empower they said would take up to 6 weeks to move over from the current supply..........decided to stay with the current supplier of the rental we are going to, we took convenience over cost............moral of the tale whoever it is make sure they can connect you the day you move in. :nice1
