how long is a bit of string :) anything froma month to several months, in fact you may not hear anything at all until you get a cheque (or a bill!) I'm on month 3 of my own wait

6 months and waiting . noit even a confirmation of receipt. i cannot imagine receiving a bill since was on highest tax bracket and worked FT for just a few month s in the last tax year. Are the applications only processed after end of tax year? anyone who has heard from them? please

My OH and I sent ours off at the same time last November, a month later he recieved a bill (although we worked for the same period of time at the same company) and a month after that he received a cheque for his refund.... I'm still waiting to hear anything from them at all.
there's a thread on here somewhere about this with people's experiences. don't give up hope, they are just working through a very large stack of requests.

The Search on this site doesn't seem to register short words - it wasn't you.

Searches have to be longer than 3 letters, for some reason.

on this subject, have printed off my P85 and filled it out, but is there any other way to get a P45 than from your employer? Can the tax office process a claim without a P45?

afaik, you have to include P45 with your P85 - I think this was mentioned in some of the documentation
make sure your employer has your forwarding address. I got mine almost immediately after last pay although OH had to wait for months - murphy's law then that OH get refund before me

The problem I have is that I was employed by an agency and cannot for the life of me remember which one!!!

I sent my form and P85 off to what I think was the correct tax office on my last day of work, 27th Feb this year. Nothing as yet but as I had no forwarding address I just have to give it a while to see if it appears in my bank account before I start pestering them!

Searches have to be longer than 3 letters, for some reason.
Just to note that the forum search was altered a while ago and can now do some 3 letter searches, so well worth trying the search even if it is only 3 letters.
Wasn't given an answer as to why only some 3 letter searches work whilst others don't, but I guess there is some issue with the forum software?
If you really do want to do a 3 letter search which isn't supported then you can use a search facility of google to do the search for you.
To do this, go to the google home page and in the google search box enter site:emigratenz.org followed by the term you want to search for.
So for example if you want to search for "P85" then enter
site:emigratenz.org "P85"
This will then limit google search results to this site only.
