Well.. I have sold 1 van, 2 cars and 3 motorbikes over the last couple of weeks and allowed trade prices as part of my budget.
People have been badgering me to death to buy the stuff and I have achieved excellent prices on everything. Maybe the media doesnt report normal life here in the UK?

I think that maybe you're just dead lucky Neil??? ;) :exit
Saying that, I sold everything that I wanted to in the UK in the 3 weeks leading to our leaving too.
Well, apart from the house :(

found when I was in the uk selling skis that lots of interest in the cheaper stuff but not much in the more expensive. so I think that spending is still going on but that its changed. more interest in bargains and second hand from what I could see.

Coo, hope my bike sells as quickly - is going on the market in early April, after one last tour. I think we'll go to Wales, this time :)

Fancy some freelance selling... I need to sell a couple of cars and it appears you have the knack.
How are you finding coping without some of your "normal" stuff like cars etc?
Cheers

well... i have been realistic with pricing and pretty efficient at selling as im not working now. my advice if you want the aggro is smack it on ebay at 99p start with no reserve and start on a sunday evening for 7 day auction (make sure there isnt a major sporting event on the day it ends)
