These last two weeks since getting approved in principle have been a whirlwind of excitement and good feelings! I was so nervous about putting my notice in at work, but they have been absolutely fantastic about the whole thing. Everyone has been so positive to almost an excess - I've been told that I'm "so brave" and "so adventurous" and one temp secretary who I barely know even announced that she is "so proud of" me! The lead partner in the firm told me that he thinks it's just great what we are doing. Another woman in the office who used to live in France became nostalgic for her time as an ex-pat. For others it seems to cause a strange sense of wonder. A coworker or colleague will ask, "why?" and when I tell them that the only reason is just that we loved it when we visited, they all seem puzzled and amazed. They don't say it in these words, but it's as if they're thinking and asking themselves, "but is this possible?" It IS possible! It is actually happening! We are moving to the other side of the world. Just because.
I am beaming. In fact, I'm pretty much walking around in a state of perma-beam. :D We leave for our 'Farewell Tour' two weeks from today. This is a wonderful time. I am trying to absorb every minute of it.
