Auckland office

I really have had enough - I am so tempted to send this to the complaints department, and if I thought I could do it without completely screwing my chances of EVER getting my WP, I would.

'Please could someone get back to me and explain why work permits are now taking 42-60 days whereas last year they were taking a week to process? Can you please also let me know why all your other 'branch processing times' have sections for temporary permits, but Auckland branch does not? Do the calls you get daily not make you think that perhaps this is information would be helpful to customers?

Am I correct in assuming that the slowness of immigration (the Auckland office anyway) is due to the increased number of applications? Can I make what might be an outlandish suggestion and ask why they don't hire more staff? Surely if that many people are paying their fees for work permits/residency etc, they have the money? And you do take the money first don't you? Before doing anything else with the application, that money is gone out of customers account... any other sector would be crucified for such practise!
Customer: 'What? I must pay you before you deliver on the service I am paying you for? I think not'
In conclusion, I would not be surprised if the reason for all these delays isn't just for the monetary gain. Goodness knows other immigration departments do it, but at least the public, and your customers deserve the courtesy to know what is happening? why things are taking 4 times as long? Why you can't get a straight answer out of your call centre operators... who I have to say are probably made out of saintly stuff... cause they must get a lot of very unhappy people calling and they manage to be polite and courteous at all times... maybe the case officers and people in charge of the endless 'Queues' could take some tips off them?'
