Anyone over there using Skype for either net to net or net to landline calls?
Would be interested in testing it before we go to NZ so could get the relatives into using it. If anyone is in Kiwiland and can give me some reports of how well it works to UK would love to know.
Would be even more impressed if someone has 10 mins spare to test at some point.
Cheers,
Yogi.

Hi Yogi
I just set up my Skype last night and call a friend in the US. (from my pc to a landline in US) and reception was very good. Over on his end as well. We spoke for about 30min and it cost only NZ$0.9. So far I havent had time to do a webcam-conversion but everything has been set up already. I could do a link up with you if you like. Just let me know when. I am in Singapore and planning to leave for Auckland to work around late April/early May. Currently, waiting for PR or WTR permit. My Skype id is "pngkongjin"

Hi Yogi
I managed (eventually) to set up Skype to work successfully and now 'SkypeOut" fairly regularly from NZ to UK and elsewhere.
Using a broadband connection at this end the result is generally good although occsasionally I do get a bit of noticable latency. I'm not sure where the problem is when this occurs, but due to the nature of the product could be just about anywhere.
Haven't Skyped to another Skype account, but assume that this would be no problem now that initial configuration problems have been resolved.
Rgds

Yes - we finally got Jetstream connected last night and first thing was to call parents free Skype to Skype. Call quality was good - not perfect, but it is FREE !!! My wife called her parents via SkypeOut as they are not connected and that was good as well!
Def need fast connection.....but a "must have"
