Is it any easier at this stage in life to make the move or is it harder? Are finances better or worse?
I truly believe that life is what you make of it wherever you are, but I cannot ignore the realities of the financial differences between the US and NZ. I want to be able to live comfortably without struggling as I reach retirement and to know I can make it beyond retirement without worrying about finances.
We only owe another 9 years on our house here in the states. If we sold that and bought a place in NZ, would it be better to choose one we could buy without owing anything?
My husband is a Kiwi and we have a 9 1/2 year old daughter. We want to do right by her, too.
What are your thoughts?
