Is there a main NZ society for researching geneology?

My father has just written a fantastic book about his ancestors but when he visits later on, he would like to continue researching his NZ links. Anyone got a link/web address?

Check out the local library, they have an online geneology program which searches the various databases for U.S., U.K and NZ - maybe others as well.

It's mostly census data and births, deaths etc, the best bit is it's all free :)

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has the biggest geneology database in the world and about 100,000 members in New Zealand. So, you'll have no problem with meeting up with fellow New Zealander's who go to their geneological libraries (free) to search ancestors.
