Any suggestions where in Wellington I should buy this stuff? Am looking to buy half-decent quality as I tend to cook often at home.
Note, I've already crockery and cutlery which are in a container ship as I write.
Thanks in advance!

For pots and pans, places to try would be the Warehouse, K-Mart, Farmers, Stevens roughly in order of cost / quality (IMO).
For Knives, you can try the shops above and there are also some specialist knife shops around e.g. there's one in queensgate (can't recall the name at the moment).

Try Moore-Wilsons; they had a large section of cookware, much of it restaurant grade.

I found Warehouse was cheap but didn't last long so we ended up going to Briscoes who seem to have a sale every weekend.
Good luck

There are a few good online retailers of kitchenware, too:
Table Pride (http://www.tablepride.co.nz/cs/default.asp)
The Studio of Tableware (http://www.thestudio.co.nz/)
Milly's Kitchen (http://www.millyskitchen.co.nz/)
The Homestore online (http://www.homestore.co.nz/)
(I often use these websites to get an idea of prices, and all of them have pretty good sales from time to time, too.)

I think there's a knife shop of some sort in Petone....

These are pretty handy - I'll take a look at these before taking the plunge. I'll look out for Living and Giving too, though I might be buying them after Thursday, as I need to sort out permanent rental first (currently living in serviced apartments).
Am appreciating the help muchly.

Living and Giving have a website, too: http://www.livingandgiving.co.nz/ It looks as though the 30% sale Family of Monkeys mentioned only applies in store, but they have some online offers at the moment.

I was going to mention the usual suspects, but Ian beat me to it. Don't forget Briscoes though, but of course never buy there unless they're having yet another sale. ;)

I looked at the sites listed above and they are very expensive IMHO, I can buy a food processor for a fraction of the price listed, it might not be as good but it works...

Of course, what any of us states as 'expensive' depends a lot on our terms of comparison...

I was at Briscoes yesterday (at Welly) and there seemed to be a sale on everything they sold. However, they didn't seem to be significantly cheaper than the other major retailer mentioned below, but that's because most shops were on sale too!

Yup - Briscoes was having one of their "everything on sale" sales this weekend. Usually they have greater discounts on a smaller number of items. If you don't need things right away it's good to be patient and wait for what you want to go on sale - I bought a nice $100 set of pans on sale for $30 a while back and found similar deals on other kitchen gear, sheets, comforter, etc.
Appliances seem to be cheaper elsewhere though.
