We're considering buying a business in Ashburton but we have two daughters (10 & 12) and need to take one to trampolining in Christchurch numberous times a week. I assume the main road between the two would be the best to stay on, I was thinking of either Rakaia or Lincoln areas but don't know the realistic travel distances. Any help with these distances, schools, anything would be great.

Hiya

Yes the main road is traight forward enough, not familar with any short cuts yet

We are in Rolleston and it takes around 30 - 40 minutes to get to ashburton. From Rolly to the city it on average 25 - 30 minutes (lots of trips to the hospital in the city :? )

Lincoln is about a 10 minute drive away from us, so quite accessable to the city aswell, actually been there today for a cappachino :nice1

We looked at ashburton but it was just a bit too far away from Jon's work and he is in Hornby.

Don't know much about schools, but my friends son goes to Lincoln High school and she is very impressed (but everyone to their own when it comes to schools)

Been to Rakaia aswell, found it ok, didn't stick out in my mind though (I think it is the place with the big fish) :?

Joanne :cheers
