Hi all,

Does anyone have any recommendations in regards to pet insurance here in NZ?? We have 2 pups and a cat, and where as in the UK there was an abundant amount of companies, there doesn't seem to be too many to choose from here.

I would second this request for recommendations as we have a new puppy.

I have found three companies online so far and there are some wide price differences - any personal suggestions?

Must have been fate - Pet-n-Sur called back with a special offer valid only till end of today (hmm...?) saving $100 on the annual plan cost.

we're with petnsur who have been good so far in terms of prices (for our two elderly cats) and communication, we haven't (thankfully) needed to make any claims yet

I use Pet-n-Sur and they have been fantastic for my very accident prone cat. So far I've paid about $400 in premiums and have made claims for over $10K. My policy pays out only 80% of the claim, and you have to pay the vet upfront and claim back from them afterwards, but it's definitely been worth it for me.

My vet now recommends PetPlan, he probably gets a kickback from them, but my cat has had bladder stones which may reoccur, so this wouldn't be covered if I switched provider.

we're also with pet'n'sur and they have been excellent. Our dog is from the SPCA and so we get discount on P'n'S premium.
