hi! as the title suggests...i'm looking for IT jobs, and had interview with one agency here in auckland, and then another agency contacted me setting up an interview, which i have reason to believe to be for the same employer, and the same job as the first agency..
should i attend interview for the second agency? i feel like just fooling around the system..
thanks!

the agency interview is a separate process from the job interview, so it may be an idea to go in and meet the agent face to face, as they will at some point be 'selling' you to their clients
do make them aware that you are signed up with the other agency/agencies though and what jobs they have put you forward for.

I agree with Dusk.
I've got a similar experience and I suppose it might not be a bad thing. If I were to be hiring, and different agencies send me the resume of the same person, then that person must probably be The One :D

Welcome to NZ. I have found most IT jobs seem to be advertised by multiple agencies. It does cause some confusion.
Also, if they don't put you forward for the job (a problem I'm having lots of) ask who the company is. I did this last week, checked with the company and they were also adverting the job directly, submitted my CV and got a first interview. Also, just to show the current IT job market in Auckland... They got 77 CV's in 4 days. Selected 10 for a first interview. This for a $100k plus IT Manager position.
Good luck.

You must let all the agencies you're signed up with, know which others are putting you forward for which jobs. To go for the same job while being represented by 2+ agencies makes it difficult for the employer to sort out which agency to pay the finders' fee to, and, well basically, it makes everyone look like a bit of an arse... ;)

I've got the same experience in the last couple of months for about 3 different positions, and 1 position got me 3 different agencies calling.
But the time they mentioned the company name and I told them another agency already forwarded my CV, they said they won't refer me anymore as that would make a bad impression on the employer for me and the agency. Unless they got another similar role they would continue to call me in the agency's office for an interview.

make sure the agencies submit the same CV and dont "tweak" it as it can make you look deceptive
