I want to get this off quickly so hope you can answer these queries:

1. I dont want to include my passport as I am going to Newport on Weds to get a new one. Can I get my current one certified at a solicitors and send the certified copy and then use my new one which may have a new passport number? to send in after weds. I will put the other 3 for the family in with the pack though.

2. It states that we have not included all of our family members. Both of my parents are deceased and Mrs V hasnt declared her father as he was not on her birth certificate and she didnt even meet him until she was 21! what are they after?

3. When I spoke with my CO, she was on about changing my details for my new job category to "investment advisor" and said that I would need 5 years experience for this. I had only declared 2 years for speed but said that I could evidence a further 3 years. Looking at the ITA, she has not ammended anything and the points stand at 145 still. Should I include this extra info even though she has not formally asked for it or should I supply exactly what she wants?

thanks guys :nice1

Erm..... pass, so sorry I have no idea!

Just include that on your cover letter, and reiterate it in the section in the ITA.

Just give them what they've asked for. :)

And a little note - submit the ITA package in exactly the same order as they ask for it in. Don't staple stuff together. If you have it, use coloured A4 paper to separate sections, and write on the coloured paper what the next section is.

Best of luck mate! :nice1

For 2, you should have answered the following:-

Give details of ALL your family, including those adopted legally or by custom. It is not necessary to list deceased family members. Family includes your biological, adoptive and step parents, siblings and children.

If there is anyone you missed off, then you should add them, and it certainly sounds like Mrs Vs Father fits the bill here. They tend to work off the informtation that was provided on the Medical certificate, so you need to at least make sure that these are consistent.

For 3, if you can provide the information easily, then I would provide it including listing it on the cover letter. If they don't need it then they will just ignore it, and if they do then they won't need to ask you again for it.

I applied for residency with one passport and got a new one before it was granted. (I applied for residency under partnership, so didn't submit an ITA, but I think the process for providing documentation is the same.) Anyway, I provided a certified copy of my passport when I applied, then when I changed my passport, told my case officer I had a new one. I went into NZ house and showed them my old one and my new one when I got the blue stickers.

I did not provide them original passport, you can certainly provide them notarised copy and they will accept it. Since your case will be in priority processing, so send original as soon as you don't have another plan to travel.

should we inform our CO that we have flights booked for next month or would that appear presumptuous? i mean.. they cant expect you not to plan toward your job start date surely?

My advice would be to not mention it for now.

The official advice from NZIS is to not book any flights until visas are issued.

Also, whether you have, or haven't already booked flights has nothing to do with the immigration process, so no reason at all why they should take this into account.

However, it does give you something to bring up with your CO in the next few weeks should the need arise.

Just my opinion :)
