OH got his work visa through last Friday :bluebanana, so we're all set - apart from the small question of me getting a job to fulfil the criteria of mine ;)
The situation is that I was granted a work visa (WTR) on the basis of a job offer with an accredited employer, which has since been withdrawn. My OH and son have their work visa and student visa respectively. If we were to go out to NZ, say in the next couple of months (before securing a replacement job for my visa), if I were to go out on a 6 month visitors visa instead, could my OH work and my son attend school while I go about getting a job (and then asked NZIS to transfer the employer details)? Or can my OH and son not use their visas unless I am using mine? We would have plenty of funds to live in NZ for the 6 months we're talking about and would rent out our UK property if we hadn't sold (been on the market about a month).
Anyone see anything wrong or problematic with this plan?
Also, all three visas have been issued and NZIS haven't mentioned anywhere in the covering letters that we need to get out to NZ in a specific timeframe (I'm sure that I've read somewhere that it's 3 months, or is that for another type of visa?) Can anyone shed any light onto that? Obviously I want to start at a job soon as we will want to apply for PR after 2 years (and my work visa expires Sept 2011) so we're aware that the clock in ticking. Thanks.
