So the time has finally arrived. Tomorrow at 8:30am the shippers arrive to pack everything up and ship it all to Chrsitchurch. :D
We're hoping that we actually arrive before the container, you see we're taking the long way round. We decided that we probably won't have this kind of chance again for a while, if ever, so we are heading off on a 2 month trip.
We're going to be taking in Arizona, California, Oregon, Nevada, Utah, Florida, Washington DC, London, York, Edinburgh, Ambleside, Conwy, Bath, Chicago, LA, Rarotonga and finally on May 28th we touch down in Auckland.
My sister lives on the North Shore so we're going to stay for a week or so, buy a car and then drive down to Christchurch. We're planning on stopping off at New Plymouth, Welly, Blenheim and then in to ChCh. If we plan it right we should just be moving in to a rental as the container turns up.
We're hoping to be off the grid when we're travelling around so probably won't be checking on the forum too much until we reach NZ. Good luck to everyone who's still going through the process and we can't wait to get there!

Cheers

Lindsay and Gareth

i'd also second Janey, if you're coming to the UK, Devon and Cornwall are the most beautiful places to visit so try and fit them in :nice1

Thanks guys. I actually grew up in the UK so all the places we're visiting there are family and friend related. It is nice down in the west country though!

Interesting routing :D

How are you getting from LA to Rarotonga? There must be a change somewhere in there as I thought the runway at Raro was to small for anything long haul :exit

And don't forget to pick up some $3 notes in Raro :D

Safe trip!

Sounds like a great trip. We will only be a few months behind you in getting to NZ. Booked our tickets for 15 Sept to Hawkes Bay.

Along with everyone else, we hope you have a great trip. You'll be exhausted by the time you land in NZ.

Let us know if you need some suggestions for things to do in the DC area.
