Got a job offer on Monday night for a job in Auckland :clap. After getting back up off the floor, I was asked how long would it take to move over to NZ?

I've told them at least 2 months, as my ITA is already submitted so according to the website it will take between 3 weeks and 3 months, and I've got a months notice to work once I've got the visa.

Can you really start selling a house (doesn't strictly need to be sold before we leave), get all your belongings shipped, sell 2 cars, say goodbye to everyone, find a rental in Auckland (with help from employer and friends over there) etc etc. In fact what else do we need to do that I haven't thought of?

Thanks in advance....

we got back from our recce on the 3/3.. the pool was the next one we could submit for.
check our timeline below..

what a plum i am! just reread your post!
it can be done but very difficult while working, ive been flat out for the past month getting organised and we leave 3 weeks today. i wouldnt have liked to try to do it in less time to be fair although if we flew in 3 days we could make it!

dont forget to send your job offer to your CO to speed it up (in the queue please after me :D)

You know you get priority when you have a job offer right? So the first thing you need to do is let New Zeland House know you have one so you get a CO asap and can get that bit sorted. Departure really hinges on getting the visa I would say, so if that get sorted soon, two months might be okay. You'll be flat out organising probably, especially if you still work. So many little things to do, they add up.
