thanks for the advice on the pots, pans and knives. am going to check out briscoes in welly over the Bank Holiday. seems all the Kiwis reckon there'll be a big sale then - they said to expect a rugby scrum :laugh

I was wondering about some furniture, a big bed, dining table and chairs and a couch. I checked out Farmers which sold all this stuff (and seemed reasonably priced), but was wondering what other alternatives were available. I was thinking in particular about the beds as I'd rather have a wooden frame than a divan - they look a bit better i think.

I think Freedom Furniture was mentioned in a previous thread, any thoughts on that too?

thanks in advance

p.s. have been here for 2 weeks now and am loving it here. also had great news today, as I had a rental application (found that strange) accepted for a lovely house in Hataitai overlooking the bay :)

Would check out The Warehouse, Big Save, Farmers, Harvey Norman roughly in that order for quality / costs.

Depending on what you are looking for, a few other specialist shops such as Wellington Bids (Beds) may be worth checking out, which is near to Freedom Furniture.

Again, most will no doubt be having big savings during the easter holidays so best to wait for them (if you can).

We need all that stuff too! I mean everything!

We went bed shopping yesterday and Wellington Bed gave us the best deal... X% off this and X% off that, free delivery and free mattress cover... we're still looking but will probably go with them.. they were really nice and very helpful.

We're going to Porirua this weekend ... Our friends also hinted about the Easter Sales... so we're waiting for those big deals!

Great, I'll check out Thorndon Quay this weekend for starters!

But wait for mega-savings weekend as Ian suggests before thinking about taking the plunge.
