We are returning as soon as our house sells and have the joyful expense of shipping our dogs back too  Has anyone used any pet shippers from NZ to the UK? There are plenty of recommendations from the UK but I have not seen any the other way. Any suggestions greatly appreciated :yes

Good luck with your move back. Would it be worth giving Golden Arrow a call to see if they can recommend anyone?I know when they flew our Dog out they said they always used Air NZ. Do your dogs have pet passports? They did briefly speak to me about what was required should we need to retun but I can't remember all the details.

Yes I have all the details from Golden ARROW 01588680240. Also found out that Air NZ do not carry pets back to the uk and his best routing would be Qantas. Worth asking the question about if they will deal with it as not clear from their letter?

Good luck

PS It will take about 7 months from now minimum if they have had vaccination against rabies have blood samples, pet passports. Otherwise they go into quarantine.

We have already had their rabies jabs done and the blood tests - this is all that is required for the pet passports. I just wondered if anyone had any recommendations. I am about to contact a few that I have found online and in the yellow pages but personal recommendation is always the best. Thanks for your input.

Hi Nicky. We used Qualified Pet Services of Auckland when we shipped our dog back to the UK in 2007. They were really good and Harvey arrived back at Heathrow safe and sound. The price including the airfare and export cert. was NZ $4,640.00. (price subject to change if airline cost increase). Contact details are Qualified Pet Services (services@qualifiedpet.co.nz).

Best of luck with everything.

Nicky,

When I moved to Dunedin and then back to the UK I used Penzance kennels for our dog they were excellent and took great care of her when she arrived.
When we returned to the UK I asked if they could handle the travel arrangements which they did and again the care they gave our dog was first class. I arranged all the jabs etc for the pet passport Kate at Penzance arranged all the travel, I think all together it came to about $4000.

I would certainly recommend them... :nice1

Hey Nicki,

Good to hear from u, just wondered how things were progressing for u all? Have u had any luck contacting the NHS for ur old job? I was totally lucky and went back to my old job almost straight away but only on a bank basis, I got perm employment with another practice a few mths later.

We used crown to come home and they were great but we did things considerably quicker than u as we never had to sell a house thankfully. Have u been having much luck with the house? It seems a lot of UK guys want christchurch so hopefully u will get a buyer.

Anyway I wont go on but just want u to know that Im silently observing ur progress from the UK, wishin u loads luck in the coming months, xx

Hi Amanda,

Had some luck with the job - been offered my old job back so that is one less headache. The down side is they need me to start at the end of May but the house has not sold yet. I will have to go back alone and leave OH and the boys here to sell the house. We are signing on with another agent next week so hope that will boost interest. Just keeping our fingers and toes crossed.

Thanks for the encouragement.
