How did you get your post before mine?! More quick work!
Somehow I'm fairly certain it'll all fall (hopefully not literally when the packers are in) into place.

Couldn't agree more!! I've always found it hard to find decent tea whenever we've been. OH's sister in Taupo always has Twinings now, which works for us, but the family don't drink as much tea as we do (and she only ever has small boxes of the stuff).
Will watch the thread with interest. :D
Incidentally, your whole experience and updates etc been great to follow and I can't believe how fast you're all managing to turn things round. It's pretty motivating too, although we aren't going anywhere for a while. Hope it all goes smoothly for the rest of your time in the UK.

the main difference I've found with the teabags is that they don't stew as quickly...
also I've only found one (affordable) brand of decaff teabags so far *sigh*

Can you get Dilmar's in NZ? Use to drink this in Aus when I was there and I like a good strong cuppa.

Kenya Bold is a good strong tea which me and my partner find acceptable lol. It stews pretty decently too. Nothing on Barry's Tea (Irish) though which we get posted over often lol..

I was about to say, Dilmah is good. I like their ceylon tea. Seen the black Twining boxes a few times. The ordinary stuff is pretty rubbish

Finding the perfect tea bag is an ongoing saga for me, Dilmah didn't cut it as far as I'm concerned, I like builders tea and it just wasn't strong enough.
I got some Clipper English Breakfast and Earl Grey and so far they have been the best, still not perfect though so my hunt continues.

Are there places that sell loose tea?

Yep Ana! There's a tea shop on Elliot Street in Auckland CBD, I haven't been in yet but from the outside looks promising. Also, if you go into organic supermarkets they tend to have a lot of loose leaf. I just haven't got round to getting any yet although I do have my diffusing spoon bought :D

Supermarkets sell PG Tips here.
It may be labelled PG Tips but it's not like PG Tips from the UK, according to my OH - it has to be the real thing for the OH. We haven't noticed any British PG Tips in any supermarkets where we shop.
Tea is just about the only thing we buy from the "UK Food" shops now.

You're right, it's not proper British PG Tips - I'd never noticed that before. (I just checked the box!) To my unrefined palate it is an acceptable alternative, though (but don't get me started on baked beans. ONE POUND for proper baked beans? That's criminal! :laugh)
