There was a rather depressing article in the Herald today about the rising unemployment rate in NZ.

How bad is it there for those of you searching or working in NZ now? (We have barely dipped our toes in the job search process so far).

From a government job perspective, there seems to be a good supply of jobs being advertised - I get around 30 new ones every day through on email, across a wide range of departments/ministries. Not so sure about the private sector though. I'm still struggling to get a response to jobs applied for in the that sector, particularly when advertised via agencies.I think that this is a problem that a lot of people have. I always ask for feedback if I don't get anywhere with a job app and have started to directly ask them if me still being in the UK is effecting their decision. Oh, well, keep plugging :)
