Hi

I believe if you have PR you can apply for any job. I just wondered if you are prepared to do a variety of jobs is there work available? Anything considered shop/office/labouring etc? A friend of ours who has relatives in NZ was out there last year for 6 months, and reckons he had no trouble finding jobs here and there, and his son is currently doing the same, a bit of fruit picking/labouring to keep himself going while still looking for the perfect job.

The reason I ask is my hubby is having no luck finding work here, even though he has been looking at a huge variety of jobs, applying to everything,he has had no luck. In a local shop which had 16 jobs, 1000 people applied!!

Although we are ok for money (thanks to an income protection insurance policy!) we are starting to get worried. The only money we have is tied up in the house, so if we do have to sell, it will be our big chance to move.

Anyway, that's my question of the day! I have contacted a few NZ unis too about maybe training out there as a teacher, even though I know my friends and family will think I am mad if I give up my training place here.........

If you do train in NZ then you will be all geared up for the NZ curriculum Helen and be NZ trained which future employers may prefer.
Think it's all swings and roundabouts.
Can't help with other bits.

I am driving myself and family mad with all my questions! I just don't know the best way to go about doing things. :o

I suppose until our house is ready to sell, I can keep tormenting myself about what to do!
