Hi everybody, and thanks again for any info provided.
Well, a friend of mine from the States has been thinking about making the move to NZ. The problem is he has a criminal record in the US from when he was 17 (certified as an adult as it happened right before he turned 18) and while he has 10 years of work experience as a Sr. Developer, he has no college and when he does the EOI points calculator, it only comes back with 110 points.
Now on the flip side is he is quite wealthy and he is willing to purchase a business, such as an orchard, to basically buy himself work to get into NZ on PR.
Would this work and are their any laws/rules against this type of thing? And concerning the felony he has, what advice could I give him concerning this. Finally, are there any guidelines about getting PR through financial investment? He would be worth over $30M NZD, if he was in NZ.
