I receive email from NZIS online service. I login and check for me application state and I found the following text:

The holder may travel to NZ and on application may be granted a permit for/to 9 months. You must leave New Zealand before expiry of your permit or face removal. Outward passage waived. The holder may work as unspecified for unspecified in New Zealand.

I think I get the work permit as the result of my SMC. I get WTR.
I would like ask if I will really be remove from NZ if I fail to catch a job on my first 6 months in NZ and fail to archive "3 months of skilled employment within 9 months of staying in NZ"

Second, the work permit says: The holder may work as unspecified for unspecified in New Zealand. Most of the people here said we need a skilled job in NZ in order to get PR but the visa is "unspecified for unspecified". Does these words come from standard template which skilled employed is still required or, NZIS really does not care what type of job I take up in order to earn my PR?

Also "Outward passage waived.". Does it mean I can go to NZ without booking any return ticket back to my originating place?

Thank you.

Yes, that means you'll be able to travel to NZ on a one way ticket

All the best,

Yes, they would really remove you if you fail to meet the requirements within the 9 months.

I believe that as long as you can secure a job within the 9 months then you are ok. If you haven't done the 3 months employment in that time then you will have a section 18A attached to your PR.

For the type of job, then yes it is expected that the job will be an offer of skilled employment.

Where a visa or immigration officer is satisfied that a principal applicant* has obtained an offer of skilled employment in New Zealand, during the deferral period, the principal applicant* will be assessed as having demonstrated an ability to settle in and contribute to New Zealand and will have their application for residence under the Skilled Migrant Category approved

And as already said, you don't need a return ticket.
