i have sent my guitars in our container but dont think i could go 2-3 months without playing. (great excuse to buy another!)

ive looked on trademe and they seem really expensive and a bit crap to be honest.

how much would you be looking at for a decent electro acoustic in the welly area and are there any good guitar shops?
i'm talking fender, ibanez, gibson, epiphone etc...

is NZ a bit like cars where the best value is jap imports?

Don't fret, I'm sure Phil can lend you one. If not, he works at a music shop. :D

Just call or let me/Phil know when we can call you, and on what number, so he can have a chat about availability of geeeetars. ;)

What kind of music do you play, and are you looking to start / join a band?

There is a place called Rock Shop...

The guitars are more here... OH got a Baby Taylor for about US$500 (with hard case and job discount) and it was in there for NZ$1000

Hello there my fellow 'Hard Rockin' Muso. :nice1

I get all my equipment from the Music Warehouse here in Upper Hutt. Check out the link below:

I have found out there is a branch in Param - off the Kapiti Road. :)

www.themusicwarehouse.co.nz

I bought my Fender acoustic geeetar from them for under $500, although I couldn't tell you if that's a good or bad deal. :D

Perhaps if you asked really really nicely, they might let you hire one?

Keep on rockin my friend. :bluebanana

Good on ya Arwen. :nice1 The Music Warehouse is where it's at. They also have a large shop, their main one, in Lower Hutt, right opposite Station Village (where Lollipops and the Parrot & Jigger are). They don't do rentals, though, and they also don't have a shop in Paraparam, so not sure what that one is.

Hi there M-Squared :)

Check out this link below.

It might be that this branch has long since sold, and the store is no more. :no

Sorry about the misinformation Victoria24.

Hey Arwen, wow thanks for that link, I had no idea they used to have one up there. They definitely only have the two of them now. Hubby runs one of them single-handed for 2 days a week. And before he got his company wardrobe, Murray, the owner, did ask that he not wear his Mesa Boogie T-shirt to work as, as rightly pointed out above, they unfortunately do not stock those amps. :(

Hubby's probably going to pick up yet another Victoria Amp when he goes back to the US in August. Good thing he's on first-name terms with the owner and can get a good deal...
