First of all I have to THANK all of you for your posts, they have been of great help through my journey...I have read you guys for a year now, since I decided with my bf to go to NZ, until now...when I decided it was about time to introduce myself.
A little of our story now...We are a family of 4, my bf, 2 kids (ages 5 and 7). We lived in US for 7 yrs and then we decided to go to NZ, later we moved back to Peru, were we have continue our paperwork, we already lodge our ITA and received an e-mail on April the 1st, here is what it said...

"Thank you for your email. I received the items you sent while I was on leave, and have added these to your file.
The last step in the process is now for you to attend a face-to-face interview, most likely at our office in Santiago. I will need to contact them to firstly ask if this is okay, and they will then provide me with some suitable dates. I will let you know their response, and hopefully we will be able to arrange something mutually suitable."

Please tell me what does this mean? did they finish assesing our ITA? Now what?? have anyone ever applied from South america?? I never read anything about interviews in Santiago, Chile....any comments will probably ease my mind!! :uhoh
Thanks in advance!!;)

Hello, and welcome to the forum. :)

If people are applying for PR or WTR without a job offer, very often they have to have an interview with someone from NZIS. Sometimes these interviews are by telephone, and sometimes in person (I think this depends on the country.) The general idea seems to be that they assess how prepared someone is for emigration, and whether they are likely to fit readily into NZ life. Whether a person is awarded PR or WTR probably depends on the impression they make at the interview.

Here's a thread with some of the usual questions, and links to several more lists. http://www.emigratenz.org/forum/showthread.php?t=24416&highlight=interview

Thank you JandM, I will have to learn al this Q&A´s by heart!! (The principal applicant is actually my bf, so I better have him learn them!) ;)
I´m half excited and half nervous, I can´t believe we got this far...I spend my every waking hour just thinking about NZ, is this normal? I guess it is! I just want us to get PR ASAP so we can move and start a new and better life.
I´m starting to gain weight! I´m eating more, is the anxiety I think!! :)

Good luck
I think you also need to reply few simple questions. The best way to spend time quickly is visit friends and family and try to avoid thinking about NZ. It is also useful to collect information about NZ and collect some useful bookmarks.

All the best

Thanks Syed! I can see you have already done your interview! Was it face to face? How long did it took from the time they told you you were getting an interview ´til the actual interview took place??
I´m spendin as much time as I can with family and friends, I have already lived a far before, so now I just want to be sorrounded by them.
And about NZ info, I just can´t get enough, I keep researching and researching about housing, schooling, work, how much stuff costs, etc....

Well, finally today we received an e-mail with the date for the interview, being wednesday, may 27th.... 'm really excited, this is it, isn't it??!! we are almost there!! I can feel it! :)
We didn't get any questions yet, nor anything to reply....I'm guessing they just wanted to make sure if we could make the trip to Chile...(I bought the tickets already!!!!)
I'm soooooo nervous!!

Well, We had our face-to-face interview yesterday!!! It was lovely, the interviewer was so nice to us, at the end he said that if it was his decision he would give us PR tomorrow!! Isn´t that exciting!! He also said, we had nothing to worry about and we would hear from them soon!!
I´m so excited...and I want to thank you all, for everything. All the questions he asked us, were here on the forum, I felt so prepared!!
