you know how us blokes like to have a rock n roll snooze in the afternoon sometimes?
well I was lightly dozing and dreaming/thinking am I mad? I'm taking my family away from our friends and family, we have a great life with great people (our social diary has been rammo'd over the last couple of weeks) the sun is out... we haven't even got residence and it could all go wrong ....
has anyone else experienced these feelings just before they fly? do they dissapate into super positivity once on the plane?

Totally normal to feel nervous, it eases a bit on the plane, because Ithink excitment takes over. I must admit I thought we were mad and my first couple of weeks here I really wanted to go home. Apart from that though now 9 months in I feel really settled. The kids have settled well into their school, and I am pleased with the progress they have made since they have been here.
It has been such a whirlwind for you, things will settle down I am sure and if then you decide it was the wrong move - you will always be able to go back BUT you will know what it was like and won't be thinking "what if" and that has to be worth something..... :)

i keep thinking negative things like.. what if we dont get the visa in time and my job offer gets withdrawn which will then dump us into the pool etc...
and i know that things always work out and its very unlike me to think in that way.
well, i'm going offline from tomorrow lunchtime so will catch you all on the otherside :)
brace yourselves for journal part 2...

Yup, as others said: completely normal. I know for about two weeks before I left the UK I was sure that I was about to make a huge mistake. As it turned out, it wasn't a mistake. Best of luck.

You'll be fine. It's completely normal to be nervous. I was so nervous and stressed out that I made myself sick. I seemed to magically get better as soon as I got on the plane though. :)

If you didn't feel this way I think something would wrong, my OH had second thoughts and even got a wee bit panicky on some occasions.
Once your on that plane you'll be to excited to worry about what is right and wrong.:D
Good luck, hope to get a chance to meet you when you arrive.

It is a scary rollercoaster, but that is normal. Once on the plane we were able to relax as nowt you can do about it. So try and chill - go with the flow.
Hopefully we'll see you when you get here - it's pretty good here you know :D
