I was due my desicion today but having waited all day for the phone call I was told I would get - I could not wait any longer so I called her number and got the answerphone - my case officer has now gone on leave untill 18th :wah

On the message, there was another number to ring and spoke to a lady who said a desision has not yet been made and she would call me next week.. :no

Well, just when you think your on a home run, your shoe laces come undone.....

Back on the waiting list.....

You must be gutted! Everyone is entitled to holidays, of course, but wouldn't you think that if she said she was gonna ring, that she would do! She MUST realise how fraught this whole experience is :no

There is nothing worse than waiting in for a delivery, a repair man etc etc.
But to be told she would ring today and then b***** off on leave is torturous. :wah :wah :wah
They MUST know how people in your position feel.
Lets face it, its not like it IS a delivery of a wachine machine is it?
A LOT of planning and preparation goes into what she has in her possesion. Not to mention SANITY. :no

I always use to say that I wanted to work for the NZIS it seems you get 48 weeks paid holiday a year, that what it seems to be anyway. my case officer was always on leave, it used to drive me potty

Don't worry - 2 days after I handed in my ITA my case officer went away for a month!!!! (beginning of December) - we had our flights booked for beginning of January...5 working days after I handed in my ITA I phoned the other person on her voicemail who was covering for her - we had it confirmed that we had PR - it'll still be being worked on whilst she's away... :nice1

Just when you think you can't take any more it all comes good.

It's a pain your CO has gone on leave but even if she doesn't come back till the 18th, in the grand scale of things, that's only 8 days away. Considering what you've gone through so far its not long.

In times like this use the "prayer of serenity"

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change
Courage to change that I know I can & the wisdom to know the difference.

Failing that, throw a few things at the wall, scream, shout, panic, worry and time will soon pass :laugh :laugh

I'm sure all will be fine and we'll be congratulating you very soon :P
