I have a friend who wants to emigrate to NZ but neither she nor her husband are in jobs on the skills list. Any ideas how they, and 2 kids, get visa's?

Have they taken the Quick test? Maybe they will have enough points to get in anyways?

We didn't have enough points, nor jobs on the LTSSL - OH got a job with an accredited employer which meant we could get Work To Residence Talent visas. Was a great option for us, although hardest bit is getting a basic salary for 40hrs a week paying over $55,000 ($50k when we applied). OH's position has lots of "add on's" which couldn't be taken into account, nor could the fact that he works more than a 40hr week as standard, but we got there in the end with help from his employer and the unions.

I believe you can get residence from work if you have worked in NZ for 2 years. Unsure on the specifics though. Without doing a skilled job or passing the local labour test that seems more unlikely in this economic climate.
