well.. you probably have noticed that my posting rate has dropped of late and thats because I have been giving it beans in New Zealand!!

Can you believe that we actually live here now? It's pretty weird sometimes but so far, we love it:nice1

we have bought a car, met loads of people and organised a school visit tomorrow to hopefully start the kids on Monday.

we've sorted our NZ driving licenses (very easy to do) got IRD numbers in less than 24 hours and opened our bank accounts. Amazingly, they had our cards waiting for us :)

we've viewed a rental house and a for sale house to get a benchmark.

we're off to see the rugby tomorrow night.

we've walked on the beach while sippin flat whites:nice1

i've been into inz in welly to get our blueys (post en route for dem bananas when they come back)

i went into my new workplace today to meet everyone prior to starting a week on monday and everyone seemed pretty ace :nice1

we're still a tad jetlagged but starting to adjust. i cant believe its winter here tomorrow and i was rockin about in a t shirt wearing the sunnies today!

kids are happy but a bit bored as house hunting and car buying is a bit tedious for them. we've got friends coming over for dinner on sunday and have promised them macdonalds and roast potatoes as a joke but not sure if they take my joviality as the truth!

do i miss the UK? Nope.

Sounds good; welcome to NZ by the way; we still have to remind ourselves that we actually live here now!

Good for you!!
If you have a moment to reply, how did you find the rental you're in now, before you flew out? How long is your contract there?
(Sorry, just curious, for future reference if/when we do it)

Thanks, Neil. I'll be flying into Christchurch (probably).
What I meant was, Did you find somewhere that looked decent on Internet and agree to a rental while in the UK? Or did your NZ based friends help you out looking for somewhere? Did you take out just a month's rental or did you commit to a longer period? When we went out we stayed in a motel for 10 days and looked for a school first, then a place in the catchment area, but the motel seemed to work out horrifically for 10 nights versus a month's house rent and the kids couldn't start school until I had my one year rental contract in hand.
Hope you enjoyed the Rugby, good luck with the school visit.
