We are trying to pass the time while waiting for a CO to be assigned (and probably MA referrals as well!)

We are tidying the house and sorting our the garden...

But, after the first flush of interest and research time is dragging for us while we wait. I am starting though to say when now, rather than the if...but how do you make the time go faster.

Current plans are to wait for PR (because of potential MA probs) but possibly try and get house on the market (Altho we have that insane fear given the current market that house will sell and we wont get PR!). Once house sells stick DH on plane for NZ if he still doesn't have a job (he was made redundant 6 weeks ago!) and see if he can find anything out there (Hopefully by then have PR too.) But we keep swithering!

So any interesting web sites, places to do research etc. for DH. I love being on here but can't get him to post..which is a shame as he has more time and I am always rushing with work and study.

Here's hoping that we only have a few more weeks to go on the wait and then it may all start to seem real again...

think I spend most of my time these days on www.seek.co.nz and www.trademe.co nz as well as some government sites that I can't remember the name of at the moment (after my share of a bottle of wine...well it is the bank holiday weekend :D).

Hope you hear back soon Mamee, we're still waiting, but I think we should hear about a CO soon :)

take care,
Julie

Well... If he wants to look for jobs here he can try www.seek.co.nz (http://www.seek.co.nz) and I know www.trademe.co.nz (http://www.trademe.co.nz) also has some listings...

I would try not to think of it or it will feel like its taking forever! I did a lot of reading on this site... looked at places to rent on trademe to see how the housing was different from the US...

I find reading the paper passes the time :)

Our timelines to date are very similar but I think you'll be there before us.

Thanks for the sites. I'll get DH looking at them and have a look myself if I get a chance between work and study.

Just wish it hadn't been recession time...it would have been so much easier having spoken to the recruitment agencies and knowing how the houses sold then. Ahh well...it just makes it more interesting.

I feel so bad that I haven't been on here more..but after the chaos of the next few weeks of year end finish then time should be better again....and it will hopefully then be getting to the fulls team ahead stage...

(I can hope!)

Hey Mamee,
We should start a club :) We're in the same boat, waiting. our times are about the same too.

We have lots of DIY stuff to do for our house and yard and boxes of stuff to sort through, things to give away. trademe and seek have fallen by the wayside for me since I'm busy with a baby, home business, and the older kids.

I think the waiting kind of lulls you into thinking that you have lots of time to get this stuff done, when really, time is flying by. I'm part afraid (and part hopeful ;)) that all of a sudden we'll get PR, OH will get a job, and I'll be stuck with the kids trying to organize, pack, and sell the house while OH is halfway around the world. Because timelines could vary so much, we want to wait a bit to put the house on the market and that just increases our uncertainty.

We have started to say "when" as well... that whole law of attraction thing :D

Hey there,

Well, hubby and I are reaching the end of the line, we lodged our ITA Feb 17th and I think we should hear something around May 20th or so. Fingers crossed. Since Feb, we have been cleaning, junking, donating, selling, saving, shopping (for adaptors, nice clothes (for interviews) and shoes (for walking), luggage and so forth for NZ). We have been very busy cleaning our house and we are almost done, even the garage! We have sold 98% of our furniture, just have a few more things to get off our hands. :) And our cars too.

Believe it or not, the time goes by super fast. It does not seem like it but it does. Hang in there, you are definitely not alone in the waiting game.

Good luck! :nice1
