I had our Case Officer interview this morning - She said we will have the response by Friday. We also spent some time yesterday working out our budget/monthly expenditure once we arrive in NZ.

I don’t know what scares me more:
1) Getting PR – which means we can set a leaving date (booking the air tickets is petrifying), or
2) The cost of living in NZ – yesterday we realised with absolute clarity that the salary we can expect once in NZ is not going to stretch as far as we were hoping

This is going to be a loooooong week. I thought we were past the hard part, but it is only beginning……… :eek:

it hits you like a bolt of lightening when you are suddenly at the end of the process. reality packs a punch! scary but exciting too!

Everyone,

I just wanted to say that this is a fab site, and thank you to all that contribute! While I may not have asked loads of questions through the process, I have found out so much information from just browsing these threads, and it has paid off as we have just received PR - which has taken us more than a year from start to finish!

Also, to all of the "Senior Members" & "Moderators" out there in NZ that have already made the move, as well as those here in the UK/USA - you are doing a great job, and you are worth 10 times more than any immigration consultant. This forum would not be the same without your valuable insight and experience. Here are some blue bananas for you:
