With the Rugby World Cup happenning in NZ in 2011 do people expect the country to have a shape rise in employment or am I just being hopeful!:D Is there many projects which may need to be completed for this?

Only reason I am asking is because I seen an add on trademe.co.nz website from a recruitment agency stating clients of their's need construction professionals to complete these projects.

I live up the road from Eden Park and there are plenty of cranes set up to transform the stadium for the cup, can see them working from my back garden.

I'm also told most of Auckland is being smartened up for the event (roadworks) and that the motorway is being widened from the airport just to give a good impression to visitors!

Not sure on the accuracy of this but a colleague at work's partner is a builder and is reporting a lack of work - residential stuff rather than larger projects though.
