Has anyone had any computer industry qualifciations assessed by the nzqa people?

I was wondering if anyone can give advice on comptia stuff or microsoft mcse's type stuff, does it give you points??

Any help would be great.

Pretty much no. It may help with employers but not NZQA afaik.

Have a look at List of recognized qualifications (http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/general/formsandfees/formsandguides/lorq)

and the list of Essential Skills in demand (http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/stream/work/skilledmigrant/LinkAdministration/ToolboxLinks/essentialskills.htm?level=1)

The second one should have qualifications required to claim points. ISSL helps get short term jobs, LTSSL is good for points should you chose to go the SMC route.

You may also want to have a look at the ANZSCO list of qualifications (http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/stream/work/skilledmigrant/LinkAdministration/ToolboxLinks/anzsco.htm?level=1) which is referred to in the above tables.

Thanx for that, seems like a interesting situation then, real work skills but no recognisation!!!!

Will look at college higher national certificate or diploma or something, think i saw them on the list.

Just wana do something that helps but still in my relevant field.
