I thought it might be useful to start a thread on job searching tips based on personal experience in NZ. How do we make the posting fixed/permanent at the front page as reference for job seekers?

To make a thread 'sticky', that is, so it stays at the top of a forum page, you need to have moderator or admin 'powers', as they are the only ones who can do such a thing. If my mod powers worked on this board I'd do it myself!

Thanks Beach Kiwi :clap

I will send a PM to the moderator or Administrator of this forum.

I also want to solicit views and opinions from forum members whether is it worthwhile doing it.

Definitely worthwhile in my opinion, Ivy :nice1
You've been a help to me. Perhaps if you edited your first post and added some tips (to save the thread getting unweildy).
I'll add any hints I get from my forthcoming trip.

John

Good luck with your trip, sorry we couldn't get to the SW meet.

I just went through the yellow pages for Christchurch for Andy and got a few companies in his field.

Don't know whether to ring them for chats, prior to getting an interview, as don't want to alienate them (bothering them) before looking for a job with regard to interview dats. Want to move out in about Oct.

Any good contact you get on your trip would be wonderful, esp on what a NZ cv looks like (style), all countries have diff styles, found site that say what to put in but that's common.

Ideas on salaries would be useful as well

Good luck with your trip.

Jo
