....and write Sky on it. You would have thought that a hi-tech, global business such as Sky could develop their systems suficiently to allow you to cancel their services with a degree of flexibility. I have been told that I have to phone exactly 31 days before I need to cancel the services. Flipping marvellous, the last thing we all need is to remember to do something on a particular day, it is bad enough remembering to do things during a particular week. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :mad::mad::mad:
I think I'm holding on too tight,
I'm buggin out and goin' home

I had a similar situation with Virgin Media. I was living in one house and got broadband with Virgin Media. No real problems there. About 6 months later, I moved house and organised to continue using Virgin Media, and lived in that house for around another 8 months. Total time I'd been with Virgin Media was 14 months, 2 months more than their contract required. When I was moving from the second house, I rang up Virgin Media to cancel the service, only to be informed I'd only been with Virgin Media for 8 months.
"Hang about, I've been with you 14 months, we were with you in the last house for 6 months"
"Oh, but when you moved house, we cancelled your contract and established a new one"
"No one told me this. I'm still cancelling"
..argument continued regarding this contract...
"Well, I'm leaving the country in 3 weeks time to go to Canada. If you'd like to chase me up over there, by all means do. Good bye!"
I never heard from them again.

you would not believe all the hassle i've had with internet and telephone provider companies over the last couple of years, so when virgin cocked up our disconnection order do you think i was the least bit surprised?:exit

I was told the same when I phoned to cancel our phone/broadband. Tried to give them the date that we would be moving out , but was told that their system wouldn't let them put in a future date!?? So I was told to phone 10 days before as that was how long it took to process the cancellation
And low & behold - 2 days later no phone/broadband !!
Very frustrating to say the least!!

"Oh, but when you moved house, we cancelled your contract and established a new one"
Virgin did this to me, too - it was "easier" for them to create a new contract for me on the system than change my address... Fortunately, when I wanted to cancel, it was because I was moving to an area (2 minutes down the road from my old house) where they didn't provide a service - they had to cancel without penalties.
All I've got to worry about when we finally up sticks is telling Vodaphone that I want to cancel their mobile broadband service. Oh gaaawwwwwd... :wah
