As the title says - I am writing this from Singapore Airport on route back to the UK. Only problem is that I am on my own - OH & my 2 boys are still in NZ waiting to sell the house :wah We had hoped to all come back together but my old employers held the job for me for 4 months but couldn't hold it any longer so here I am. Hope it won't be too long before we are a family again. Bit emotional at the airport but we survived. Had the tears in my eyes again earlier when I was talking to them all on MSN - especially my youngest. I hope it gets easier as time goes on. Will up date you all on my thoughts of the UK after having spent 8 months in NZ when I get back.

So sad to hear you are going through this at the moment, it must be terrrible. :(
Best of luck with your new (old) job. :nice1
Would it be worth auctioning your property to speed up the selling process???
Here's wishing that you and your family are all re-united VERY soon.

I've been back here for 5 days now and in that time I have bought a car and been into work to get all my documents sorted etc... Feels like the first week in NZ. The weather here is quite good - not as hot as NZ got in Spring but quite pleasant. I don't know what I expected having been away for 8 months but things look and feel exactly the same. Weird living with my mum but ok. Finding it difficult in some areas as I have not lived in the UK for 8 months - for example I tried to sign up for a contract for my phone but as I had only lived at this address for a couple of days they could not credit score me even though my credit rating is excellent so couldn't get it. For my CRB check for work they needed confiormation of my address - I am living with my mum and don't get any bills etc... here!!! Seems like the last 40+ years count for nothing. In a way it is probably better that I am here first so these things can all get sorted before the bulk of the family get back and we start needing reference for landlords etc... I feel like I am on holiday at the moment but that will change when I start work on Tuesday.
Miss OH & the boys like crazy but I speak to them on Skype twice a day so we do keep in touch. That will slow down when I start work as the time difference will make it a bit more difficult. Hopefully won't be too long before we are back together again.
