We sent off some additional medical info 2wks ago, emailed CO but no response. How long to we wait? Have an offer on the house and need to know if we are moving forwards or not? Any ideas?

No harm in sending him/her and email and explaining what you just told us here. However, if your medical has been sent to the MA in NZ it's usually 3-4 weeks before NZIS London (assuming you are in UK) get it back.

I'd drop the CO a line anyway.

thanks, I see from your info that your CO wanted more info, for my hubby he needed further blood tests which we sent. I really dont want to lose my house buyer, they are difficult to find!

My CO wanted me to have the additional fasting blood tests. The other info was an original of something I'd only previously provided a photocopy of and some evidence that my kiwi brother was my brother.

My medical was sent to the MA but, from my email conversations with the CO I discovered that even without the extra blood tests she would have sent it over anyway as I had cancer 22 years ago. The panel doctor had no problem with it but the CO obviously wanted to be extra sure. It wasn't clear whether it would have been send just for the blood tests. Although I suspect that, unless the COs have training (or a reference to turn to) to interpret the blood test results, they would have to go to a doctor anyway.

Why not email and ask? COs seem to be human, I'm sure he/she would understand your concern.

Hi there

We are getting quiet frustrated, too and would be glad after all to have any kind of conversation with our CO whatsoever....

We got a mail from our CO on 20.3.09 with two more questions (which actually were answered in our application already) and the message that she would send my husbands medicals to the MA. This should take appr. 3 weeks (her words). On May 6th I mailed the CO again to ask if she might need any further information or if she could give us an update on our case. Till now no response. We find it rather frustrating and annyoing not to know what is going on and that our CO doesn't even bother to answer us.....

So what to do? Be more patient..... Fingers crossed for you and good luck!

Cora

Hi

unfortunately I am quite an expert in sending info off to a CO re medicals and awaiting a response.....we did it a few times!

here is what happens...
1) the info goes to the CO
2) once a week via post this info is sent to NZ for the medical assessors to have a look at
3) it usually takes about 5 weeks for the medical assessor to have checked it over.
4) the medical assessor sends via post (again!) their response to the CO
5)this usually is a thursday that the CO receives the info from the MA
6) the CO goes through the info and either contacts you to say all ok or contacts you to say more info
7) if more info .....go back to step 1 and same time line!

The CO cannot give you any info unless he/she has got your report back from the MA.

It is a long drawn out and incredibly frustrating process, that cannot be speeded up (we tried!).

In summary..........you won't hear anything for 5-6 weeks from submitting information.

The 5-6wks doesnt surprise me, it's the fact that the CO hasn't replied to 4 emails over the last 2 months. It would be polite just to acknowledge our emails and receipt of the documents. I spoke to a guy at NZ in London who was lovely and very helpful, would have loved him as CO.

I know what you mean about them not replying to emails. we have just got pr via a new co. our original co went on leave for 4 weeks and we heard not a thing because of this, not even an out of office reply. also, because we used an agent when i eventually managed to get through on the phone the co would not speak to me!! took all my time to not shout at co, but thought better of it as didn't want pr refusing due to anger issues!

i wonder if you have same co as us and they are still away.

Ours was away in SA doing interviews for a while, back now, i don't want to sound pushy when contacting them, but a little reassurance we are doing okay would be nice!

Wow, that's just incredible... So I assume, we have the same CO.... :wah

So maybe she's out on a leave, holiday or whatever and we just have to wait....... It's just so unfair...

We wouldn't mind to wait 5-6 weeks either if we knew it would just take some more time for the MA. But we were already worried that they might have lost our documents?! Who knows?!

Our CO is on holiday for a week so we can't get a decision on our PR until she comes back. It's such a big thing in all of our lives that it's frustrating when you're in the dark.

Best of luck
