Hi,
Have some questions on EOI points.
If I have bachelor, masters degree and Diploma for Professional Intermediate Education, can I get 50 points for each of it, totally 150 together?
Filled out The Skilled Migrant Category Points Indicator I only get 95, then I added my partner and now I get 115. Is there any possibility that I will be withdrawn from pool? Or do I have to have 100 points on my own to have any chance?

Thanks for answers in advance :)

Hello, and welcome to the forum. :)

I don't know the answers to these questions. People already in NZ, who have gone through the process, will be around later on.

Hiya,
I don't know about the qualifications - sorry (not highly qualified enough for it to have worried me ;-) ), however, yes, your partner's points do add to yours on the EOI - we were 115 points combined with myself as the principle applicant.

Claiming the points for your partner is fine (obviously as long as they are going with you :D). You only get the points for yourself the highest level of qualification you have, you can't claim multiple points. So if you had a Bachelors or equivilent you would get 50 for you (+ 20 points for your OH if they have a bachelors or equilivent too). I think the most points you can get as an individual is 55 for something like a PhD (someone will correct me if I'm wrong).

Hope this makes sense,
Julie

PS. welcome to the forum :nice1

other one quick question. What is better for EOI that i have full assesment on my qualification or its fine with pre-assesment?
in case my EOI is drawn, do i need the full assesment of my qualification?

If you claim bonus points you do need NZQA assessment. You may not otherwise, check if your institution is on this list http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/general/formsandfees/formsandguides/lorq

but there are two types of assesments, one wich is cheap pre-assesment around 40$ or full assesment that one for 450$. So im thinking do i need to make full assesment for EOI if im not sure if i will be drawn :)

I think you can only claim once for qualifications but there are more points for the more qualifications you get. For example I have a PhD so I get more points than my husband for his bachelors but he has more work experience. We've worked it out as to what our points would be for each of us as the principle applicant and we get more points when he is PA because of the work experience so we're going to apply in his name. However, if you have a masters regardless of what its in, you are on the long term skilled shortage list so you will pick up extra points for that.

Hello and welcome.

You can only claim points of one qualification (not multiple, even if you have two master degree). So better is to claim points for highest qualification you have.

If your university/institution is recognised by NZQA and is on their list of approved institutions, you don't need assesment. If not, you need it. Now you need to choose. For EOI PAR assesment is fine and it takes less time. If you are selected and issued ITA, you will need full assesment. Full NZQA assesment have two categories, normal one where you pay $450 and it may take up to four months, to make it faster you pay extra $150 on top of $450 and you can get the results in 2-3 weeks.

You need 115 points to be selected as last draw shows results though 100 points will qualify you to submit EOI but there are less chances that you will be selected with 100 points.

Hope this helps.

Just to add to the very valid comments of rizjunior, you will need it assessed regardless if you are claiming additional bonus points. We are claiming bonus points for work experience in an area of Long Terms Skills Shortage, so have had to have OH's degree assessed despite it already being recognised :uhoh
