Hi,
After what seemed like a life time, we've got all the paperwork (medicals, certificates, corrections, etc) together and we're about to re-check that we've got everything. Clearly, I could post this to NZ House in London or as I'll be in the general area tomorrow, I could take it there.
Can I simply turn up and hand it in?
Apart from saving the posting costs, are there any advantages of do this?

People who are already in NZ will be along later, but I'm pretty sure I've seen others mention they have just gone along to NZ House with the bundle.
One BIG advantage that springs to mind is that you'll KNOW it's truly there, and hasn't got lost in the post!

That's exactly what I did last November. I expected to just hand it over at the desk. However, the reception staff directed me upstairs to NZIS.
You need to take a numbered ticket and wait. There is a slot, below the number machine, where you can put an application but it wasn't big enough for ours.
So I waited to be seen and the member of staff who saw me went through the stuff with me, checking that everything was there. Then she logged it on the computer, took my payment and gave me a receipt.

Sorry to drag this up again but can one do this in one of the NZIS offices in NZ? I am living quite near the offices here in Christchurch and its just as easy for me to drop it into them as it is to send it. Will they accept this?

They do not accept anything over the counter. You have to put it in a big brown envelope (provided) and drop it into the box in the waiting area.

Roger - I handed mine in at London. I didn't book in advance and I didn't have to wait long (less than 20 mins). Whilst I was there, they went through the paperwork to ensure nothing was missing. If you can get down there, I would recommend doing the same - you get more peace of mind handing it over in person!

Yes, like you, I handed the documents in and went through it with someone who also gave me feedback on the next steps of the process.

Can anyone confirm the times (and days) that the desk is open? Want to book train tickets and can't remember if they close for lunch, or were open every day.
Thanks

And after you have been to NZ House you can go to the New Zealand shop which is nearby in Royal Opera Arcade which has a good selection of books etc and even sells chocolate fish.

Sadly I just have to buy industrial quanities of 'Manuka soap' for the (much) better half. Don't get to buy any fun stuff.

Just to update for others in the future.
Desk is open 10am-15:45 Monday to Friday, no need to book. Took about half an hour, and they returned all the originals then and there, so saves all that risk in the post.
