Forum Rules

1. Each member may register one username on this forum. If you register more than one username, your accounts will be deactivated permanently. If you have another family member who wishes to join, please send me a quick PM in order to prevent any possible confusion.

2. The forums are free of charge. Please do not use your signature to promote a website or business. Personal, family blogs are okay. Anything else is not.

3. Please do not promote your or an associate's business and/or website. The only exception is if you are a small business interested in employing a migrant; please post in the Working in New Zealand (http://www.emigratenz.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=16) forum.

4. Bear in mind that this is a family oriented forum. Please keep language civil. Refrain from using coarse language and swear words. This includes words where letters are replaced by symbols such as *.

5. Be courteous at all times. The following are not allowed: personal insults/name-calling, racism, swearing, gratuitously offensive material, personal attacks, and trolling (making controversial posts purely to stir up an adverse reaction).

6. You are welcome to challenge others' points of view and opinions, but do so respectfully and thoughtfully.

7. Occasionally, forum moderators may need to become involved in moderating a thread. Should you be concerned about any such action, please raise it with a moderator or administrator by private message. Just as attacks on other members are against the rules, so are attacks on moderators.

8. Usernames that have the appearance of email addresses are not accepted.

9. Please keep all of your posts relevant to the forum topics.

10. You grant a permanent licence to ENZ to display the content of any and all posts you make on the forum.

11. Please use smilies only from ENZ in your posts.

12. Politics and religion: No party politics is allowed on the forum. Discussions of political or religious themes are allowed if they are carried out thoughtfully, with respect for other posters' (possibly different) ideas, and are relevant to New Zealand immigration, life in New Zealand, or reasons for leaving your own country. Talk about your own ideas. Please don't bash politicians, political parties, religions or other members' ideas, and please don't form political/religious social groups.

13. The private messaging system is available for members who have five or more posts on their profile. Your private messages (PMs) are just that - private. We do not read them. If, however, a PM or PMs is/are complained about or reported to us for any reason - for example because it is (or they are) obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, threatening, spamming, advertising, etc - we reserve the right to check the contents of the private message(s) and to take action against the sender of the message(s).

14. Defamation/libel will not be tolerated. Any posts which are potentially libellous will be removed as soon as we become aware of them and the member's forum privileges will be reviewed. This is an international forum and your posts must therefore not fall foul of libel laws in any country where this forum is likely to be read. If you wish to libel someone, do it on your own website. Don't try to do it here.

Although the administrators and moderators will attempt to keep objectionable messages off this forum, it is impossible for us to review all messages. All messages express the views of the author, and neither the owners of ENZ New Zealand Forums, nor Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. (developers of vBulletin) will be held responsible for the content of any message.

This is a privately owned forum. We reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason.

We reserve the right to accept or decline membership applications, vary forum privileges, and terminate the membership of anyone for any reason.

By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, threatening, or otherwise in violation of any laws.

These rules will be reviewed and changed if necessary in the light of experience.
