Hi. We submitted our application to London branch on 30 January this year. I see from the website that they're allocating applications from after that date already, but have had no communications from INZ. How do we check the status of the application without e-mailing/calling. I don't really want to be pushy at this early stage...

Would the standard be that the CO lets you know, or do you only hear from them when they have a question or wish to let you know you have approval in principle?

Does any one who submitted about the end of January or after have a CO yet?

Thanks

No way, you will know only when the CO needs anything from you

Hey there,

I have learned with NZIS (at least in my experience), no news is good news. If there is a problem, they will let you know. :o You will get some kind of correspondence when you have been allocated a CO. Whether it'd be an e-mail, a letter or a phone call. We received an e-mail. He needed a few things from us and once we took care of that, a week later, he scheduled a phone interview.

I am sure things are fine. Hang in there, you are so close! :nice1

We didn't know we had a CO until today, when we had contact that we just need to provide work references from 2003 onwards (we provided enough yrs for claiming bonus points but now they want it all). Like others have said, no news is good news...also our ITA was submitted after yours so the likehood is that you have probably been allocated a CO by now.

Hope you hear some news soon to put your mind at rest :)

I had this response from the general enquiry when my application was transferred from Shanghai to London......... "I can let you know that when your application arrives it should be allocated to a Visa Officer for processing within a week or two of arriving in our office. We would then 'hope' to make a decision within one to three months. However, if there are any verification or medical issues then it can take much, much longer to make a decision on an application. "

Being a desperate soul, I tried to contact them as I dint hear from anyone after a month or so... and got the below response....
"Your application has recently been assigned to a Visa Officer for processing. I have forwarded your email on to the Visa Officer so they know you have been in touch."

I'm now waiting for them to get back. Hope this helps :-)

Cheers,

Hi

we were similar. The 'allocation date' according to the NZIS website came and went for our lodged application date and we heard a big fat NOTHING!

we were anxious but decided to sit and wait it out however, this anxiety got the better of us and we e-mailed (very politely) to the general e-mail address asking if there had been any progress.

we got 2 e-mails back: 1) from the administrator to say we had been allocated a case officer and 2) from our case officer herself introducing herself.

so yes, I would assume that no news is good news. You probably do have a case officer but she/he is still busy doing her checks etc. and they will contact you if/when they need something. If, like us, you're losing the will to live, I would suggest a nice, polite e-mail might help. We started the e-mail with something like 'we know you are very busy etc etc however, we were wondering if possible to get an update on our case . . . .'

The next we heard from our Case officer was when our interview was scheduled.
I sometimes wonder if the fact that we e-mailed made them look for our file and pull us out of the pile to be processed however, I'm sure it could just as easily had the opposite effect if we'd had a different case officer maybe - ie scolding you for being pushy so putting you to the bottom of the pile (although I'd like to think that the CO's are really there to help you!!)

We got an e-mail from our CO on Saturday afternoon, so now we know we're on the radar.

The e-mail asked for more proof of both partners at the same address & English language proficiency.

We may have a challenge regarding the evidence of residence, because we use a PO Box, rather than street address. This makes using mail as evidence a bit of a challenge.

I expect you've thought of these, but there must be organizations which know of you both, together - e.g. banks, mortgage lenders, insurance, tax authorities, voters' lists - that you could get testimony from. Good luck.:nice1
