For anyone looking for accommodation in Auckland on arrival, just found this one recommended to us some time ago (before we decided on Wellie)

It is in Stanmore Bay 25 minutes north from Auckland City
3 bedrooms, master ensuite
Internal garage and off street parking
fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier
child-friendly - highchair and carrycot + safe patio garden
Sky TV and DVD player
5 minutes walk to beautiful safe sandy beach and leisure centre

Cost is apparently the same as a basic motel room with rates for longer stays 8 days or more.
