Morning All,
My EOI has been selected from the pool and I'm just wondering what the next steps are and rough time scales - I've read a lot on hear about blue stickers etc but it doesn't mean a lot to me!
Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave,
Have a look at the signatures of the forumites on here as it will give you a rough guide, but it does all depend on where you live and individual circumstances such as job offers, Medical problems etc etc. Ours is still ongoing but we found out this week that we have at least been assigned a Case Officer :clap
The blue stickers you have heard reference off are the Visas that get put in to the passport if successful in the application.
HTH,
Julie:)

Well, if you have a job offer you can expect the whole process will be faster and month long waits will be in the week range instead. The first thing that generally happens is your application goes decision successful. This means that they find the claims you made in your EOI reasonable enough that they want to invite you to apply for residency (ITA). Without a job offer this can take several months or it can be quick. Time lines change depending on the time of year, the office your application is going through etc. If you need to get a professional registration done or a qualification assessed by NZQA you may want to start now so you can have it ready for the ITA.
Once you go decision successful your ITA should arrive fairly quickly. Once that is issued you have 4 months to return it with all the information it asks for. Included in this will be medicals (good for 3 months until submitted with an application), police checks (good for 6 months until submitted with application), relationship proof, work experience proof, qualification proof and anything else you were awarded points for on your EOI.
After you send that back you'll--at some point--be assigned a case officer who will ask you for further information. Or not, if you are lucky. Then you'll possibly have an interview (depending on a job offer, with a job offer no interview).
Then they'll make a decision on your case and if all is well you are granted PR (the blue visa/permit stickers in your passport) or a Work to residence visa.
Many people have time lines in their signatures so hopefully this helps you make a bit more sense of them.
