:laugh:laugh Sorry but had to laugh. My OH got all the way into central London from midlands one day (2 1/2 hour commute) before he bothered to turn his mobile on and found he'd taken both sets of car keys with him......by time he got home again it was lunchtime and he'd spent 5 hours travelling without making it to work :uhoh

Or, as my colleague did, don't pick up the wrong set of sensor keys when you leave the house, get in the car, drive down the road, stop at the dairy on the way to work, get back in and can't start the car.
D'OH! Car started because the car could read the sensor from the keys in the house.
Colleague not a happy bunny having to walk the rest of the way to work :laugh

And I hope the thread title was a reference to the fantastic "Viz" :D I used to buy it quite religiously in the UK, and actually spent a small fortune subscribing to it when I lived in the US :D

Go on, admit it, you were just trying to take her mind of the first day nerves by giving her something else more immediate to focus on.
You are a very kind person!! ;)

I once left the keys to my flat in the car. Which would have been fine but my flatmate locked me in on the way out and we lived on the second floor. I considered chucking my keys down to a passer-by and asking them to come and release me but as this was in London I figured I was more likely to watch them head off in my car. I rang and rang my flatmate's phone to no avail and ended up calling the local police station and asking if they wouldn't mind awfully sending someone round to catch the car keys as I threw them out of the window. I was mortified, VERY late for work and never did it again!
