My daughter is quite upset they don't do them in children's sizes... :(

Just a thought M-Squared. Would your daughter fit into a womens Xtra Small? My daughter sometimes buys that size from Jay Jays and she's only 11 (and a very slim 11 year old at that).

She might just. :) I'll see what they have, but she was laughing so much at the listing and the dino pictures, she nearly wet herself. :laugh :laugh :laugh

He welched out?

I think his excuse was his bank wouldn't lend him the money at the last minute.

I found it.

http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/2441360/TradeMe-farm-for-tractor-deal-falls-through

That is really stupid! Who'd bid at auction without knowing they had the money available?

Mind you, Shelley did say how she hadn't had her heart in the sale from the beginning - maybe deep down, she won't be too sorry that it didn't go through.

A follow up article (http://nz.news.yahoo.com/a/-/top-stories/5621400/southland-farm-couple-better-off-after-internet-stunt/) quoted them as saying that "they have never been better off since failing to sell their farm in an internet auction stunt".

I still think it was lousy though :no, but I suspect the highest bidder didn't have an easy time of it either since he was named and shamed everywhere :D :exit !

Cheers,
Silver

These stories make me laugh...will now have to go back and read Qand A bits as well
Thanks for update on Tractor and farm story...are the owners now going to stay?

JandM
13th June 2009, 11:48 PM
Reading the comments on the follow-up story, I realized that actually, I don't know why the next highest bid didn't get it, either. Maybe once a sale is announced, all other bids are nul and void - after all, the second-place bidder may have said, 'Oh, well, I was out of luck,' and immediately gone and spent his money on something else.

@M-Squared:

Not sure if you knew this already, but the Tees are now being offered in Kids sizes as well, they can be bought here (http://www.mrvintage.co.nz/results.html?q=scary).

The auction has ended successfully, with the final bid being $5160  , and apparently it's a genuine bid too ! Apparently the washer may be going on a tour of New Zealand !

Appliance Connexion confirmed the 100% chain of stores bought the scary washing machine for $5160 and might take it on a national tour.

The full article on Yahoo!Xtra news (http://nz.news.yahoo.com/a/-/mp/5664487/scary-washing-machine-sells-for-5160/).

The seller has also started a website (http://www.scarywashingmachine.com/index.html) about the washing machine, very funny !

Cheers,
Silver

Thanks, Silver! I've since seen that. I don't think my daughter would ever forgive me if I didn't get her one. Now the problem is going to be to get her to choose just ONE! :laugh

I can't wait for the tour, hope it goes ahead! I'll be there if it does. :D
